What
is a Dealer Promo?
A Dealer Promo is a 1/24 scale
pre-assembled plastic model. They are molded in the color
indicated for each model (with a few exceptions). They originated
as "give-aways" from the dealer when you purchased a
car. Since they are normally produced in limited quantities they
are quite collectible, with some models from the 1960s and earlier
selling for thousands of dollars.
Dealer Promos have detail roughly
equivalent to a model kit, although the detail has improved in recent
years. They do not have opening parts like most die cast
models. You should look for these models to be in their original
packaging and in mint condition (all of ours are unless otherwise
indicated).
